Where the Road Goes

Museum Roads as a Mirror for Finnishness

Jetro Stavén and Johanna Erjonsalo’s fascinating photography exhibition explores all 22 museum roads in Finland. The photographs pay tribute to the past and present of the roads, and the exhibition also gives people who live or travel along the museum roads a chance to tell what the roads mean to them.
Jetro Stavén (b. 1989) is a photographer from Taipalsaari. He works as a freelancer and currently lives in Helsinki. Stavén mainly shoots newspaper, corporate, and wedding photography. He has been awarded several times for his work (e.g., Fotofinlandia, Wedding Photo of the Year).
Johanna Erjonsalo (b. 1991) is an award-winning photojournalist from Helsinki. She works as a press photographer for Etelä-Suomen Media and has worked on several documentary projects of her own alongside her day job.

The photography of the museum roads has been made possible by the Finnish Road Association, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, Pirkanmaa ELY Centre, and Mobilia.
